LASC Update | May 19, 2020
Below is a copy of the email we received directly from Cal South today, May 19. It is a reminder that Cal South nor the State of California are sanctioning any soccer activities until further notice. This order has been in place since March 13, 2020, and is still in effect.
We have also been informed by Cal South that until the Stay-At-Home order is lifted and Return to Play protocols are put in place all Cal South clubs have NO insurance coverage. There have been multiple reports of clubs breaking the Stay-At-Home orders to get a head start on training, but they do so at extreme risk to their players, parents, coaches, facilities, and the club itself.
LASC will continue to be guided by our governing bodies and what’s best for the safety of our families and community.
[From Cal South]
Dear Cal South Members,
As a reminder, Cal South continues its suspension of Cal South programs and competition activities until further notice, in accordance with the State of California and the Governors' Stay-At-Home-Order. The suspension, in place since March 13, came as a result of the propagation of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and it will not be lifted until State authorities have lifted or made any changes to their Stay-At-Home Order regarding Youth Sports.
Click here to read Executive Order N-33-20.
The suspension covers ALL Cal South events and sanctioned activities including, but not limited to, State Cup, National Cup, California Regional League, Pacific Conference, Adult State Cup, Golden Valley Soccer League play, as well as any ODP Programming, Coaching Education Courses, and Referee Courses. Other activities sanctioned by Cal South, such as practices, tournaments, camps, etc., are also suspended in accordance with the guidelines for social distancing as established by local, state, and national agencies and health organizations.
Cal South will continue to evaluate the circumstances associated with COVID-19 and update our status to members as conditions change and will communicate updates on our website, social media channels, and via email. Please check our website at: www.calsouth.com/coronavirus/ for continued updates and information related to the Coronavirus throughout this period.
