Dear Cal South Members,
Cal South hereby suspends all program and competition activities effective immediately through April 17, 2020. This suspension comes as a result of the propagation of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and it is taken with extreme concern and interest in the health and safety of our entire community. The suspension covers all Cal South events including, but not limited to, State Cup, National Cup, California Regional League, Pacific Conference, Adult State Cup, Golden Valley Soccer League play, as well as any ODP Programming, Coaching Education Courses, and Referee Courses. Cal South strongly encourages all affiliates to suspend all activities for a few weeks, but Cal South understands such decisions remain at their discretion based upon their unique circumstances.
Cal South is closely monitoring national and state organizations, including the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), the California Department of Public Health, the United States Soccer Federation, US Youth Soccer and the United States Adult Soccer Association. Thus, Cal South may extend this suspension, depending on the facts and recommendations not available at this time.
We will continue to evaluate the circumstances associated with COVID-19 and update our status to members as conditions change and will communicate updates on our website, social media channels and via email. Please check our website at: www.calsouth.com/coronavirus/ for continued updates and information related to the Coronavirus throughout this period.
The safety of our community is our main priority and we believe that suspending all activity through April 17th gives us adequate time to examine all the recommendations and advisories before making further decisions.
