RETURN TO PLAY - SCDSL LEAGUE UPDATE

SCDSL.png

Oct. 11, 2020, SCDSL announced that league play, this season, will be pushed to January 2021.

As we sit today, California is one of the few states in the country not currently open for youth sports. This means that under the current state and county guidelines we are not able to play games or start the league season. This also applies to tournaments or other forms of competition.

LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL
High school football is scheduled to begin practice next month and kick off the season in early 2021. If CIF is able to start high school sports again without issue or spreading the virus, then it bodes well for reopening all youth sports.

Below, you can read the complete SCDSL annoucement, as well as, the original CIF announce from July.

July 20, 2020, CIF made this announcement regarding high school sports.

The high school soccer season will now be played in the spring, with a start date of February 27th.
Additionally, CIF has suspended restrictions on outside competition for this academic year.

WHAT DOES THAT MEAN FOR CLUB SOCCER?
This means that players will be allowed to participate in high school soccer and club soccer simultaneously if there were a conflict.
