Understand How it Spreads

There is currently no vaccine to prevent coronavirus (COVID-19) and the best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed. The virus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person.

Below are common ways the virus can spread.

  • Close contact with one another (within about 6 feet)

  • Respiratory droplets produced by an infected person (coughing, sneezing, etc.)

  • Physical contact with an infected person

  • Touching shared objects and then touching your face before thoroughly washing your hands

Please, watch this CDC video with your child to help them understand the most effective way to wash their hands and stay safe.
